Dr. Rick Holland - 2010 Plenary Speaker

Dr. Rick Holland, who currently serves as both Executive Pastor and College Pastor at Grace Community Church in Sun Valley California (senior pastored by Dr. John MacArthur) and has been involved in ministry at Grace  for more than 20 years. Rich is the director of the Doctor of Ministries Program and a faculty associate in homiletics at The Master's Seminary. Rick is also the founder and executive director of the Resolved Conference. A native of Tennessee, he has earned degrees from the University of Tennessee, Chattanooga (B.S.), The Master's Seminary (M.Div.), and The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary (D.Min.). Rick and his wife, Kim, have three sons.

 

Sean Ransom - “Expository Preaching Workshop”

Pastor Sean Ransom is founder of The Expositor’s Academy in Manila, a member of The Master’s Academy International.  His passion is to equip ministry leaders in The Philippines to accurately teach the Word of God so that those they minister to may deeply grow in their knowledge and love our great and awesome Saviour. Sean holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Ministries from The Master’s College in Valencia, and a Master of Divinity from The Master’s Seminary in Sun Valley, California.  He is currently working on his Doctorate of Ministry from Talbot Seminary.  Sean and his wife Jessica, along with their five children have been serving in The Philippines  since 2004. 

Jessica Ransom - “Profile of a Godly Wife” & “God’s Counsel for Women who Worry” 

As wife to Sean Ransom for 20 years, Jessica’s primary ministry is her husband and family.  She supports Sean in administrative work for The Expositor’s Academy and also participates in some of its weekly classes. She enjoys discipling younger women and was privileged to teach a couple of women’s sessions during the 2009 Conference. She holds a B.A. in Psychology from UCLA with a Minor in Business.  Before serving on the mission field, she ran a business from home while she home-schooled their two oldest kids.  Today, she works part time at Faith Academy, a school in Cainta that is primarily for missionary kids.

EJ Del Mundo - “Biblical Parenting”

Pastor EJ Del Mundo is founder of Integrity Ministries, a ministry  that teaches bible stories on a weekly basis  to more than 1,000 children each week.  He currently serves as an elder and pastor at Christ’s Commission Fellowship in Alabang. He and his wife, Jaja,  have three children.

Dr. Lisa LaGeorge - “Peacemaking for Women” & “Godly Living as a Single Woman”. 

Lisa LaGeorge is the current Director of International Ministries and Assistant Professor of Biblical Studies at The Master’s College, where she has been serving since 1998. Prior to coming to TMC, Lisa spent five years involved in cross-cultural youth ministry in Alaska. She has traveled in over 30 countries to encourage cross-cultural workers, provide teacher training workshops, and supervise student teachers. In addition to teaching in the area of ESL and Intercultural Studies, Lisa administers and trains cross-cultural vocational student trips and overseas recruitment and community development for International Students and Third Culture Kids at The Master's College. Her research and writing includes the topics of cross-cultural teaching methodologies, historical missionary biographies, and Third Culture Kid assimilation. She is rarely without a book, loves to cook, and enjoys opening her home for global gatherings.

Felix Ballon - “Biblical Philosophy of Ministry” & “Building a Biblical Leadership Team.”  Pastor Felix Ballon is the senior pastor of South Bay Christian Alliance Church in Carson, California.  He is also on faculty at Los Angeles Bible Training School where he is also an alumni.  In addition to his LABTS diploma, Pastor Felix holds a Bachelor of Science from Biola University, a Master’s of Divinity from the Master’s Seminary, and is now completing his second Master’s (Th.M) from The Master’s Seminary.

Jeff Anderson - “Ministry to the Poor”.  Jeff currently serves as ACTION Philippine Field Director and leader of ministries to street children and their families and the disaster relief and development ministry. He is the Associate International Director of Action International Ministries. Jeff trusted Christ as Savior in 1973 through the ministry of Campus Crusade for Christ while a freshmen at St. Cloud State University in St. Cloud, MN. During his college years, he was actively involved with CCC. He graduated in 1977 with a degree in Criminal Justice Studies and Sociology. After college, Jeff worked at Midwest Challenge in Minneapolis from 1977-84, a Christ-centered residential discipleship program for drug addicts, homeless, prostitutes, prisoners and the like. He was married to Mary Ann in 1979 and they joined ACTION in 1985 to serve in Manila, Philippines among street children and their families, prostitutes, prisoners and the poor. He underwent missions training through Grace Church Eden Prairie in Minnesota. Jeff was ordained in 1993 and has authored or edited numerous publications and papers, including "Restoring Children of the Streets: A Guide for Mobilizing and Equipping God's People Around the World". Jeff serves on the steering committee of the 180° Alliance: United Global Action with Street Children strategy group for ministering to street children around the world in cooperation with Viva Network. Jeff and Mary Ann have two grown children, Amos and Micah, Micah is married to Daniel Scott. 

Pastor BJ Sebastian - Plenary Session #1 & “Honoring God in the Work Place”

BJ Sebastian has been pastoring for more than 20 years and is currently serving as the interim Pastor of GCF, Ortigas Center.  He holds a Master in Business Management from the Asian Institute of Management in Manila, and is a current candidate for a Master in Divinity from Asian Theological Seminary. He also has a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of the Philippines.

Pastor Mike Asperin - “Restoring a Fallen Brother”

Col. Mike Asperin (Ret.) is an elder at GCF and leader of the JOSHUA Ministry, GCF's arm reaching the Philippines' uniformed men and women.

Dr. Ron Watters - “Identifying and Dealing with False Teachings”

Ron Watters is a missionary from the U.S. and is currently the Dean of Academic Affairs at International Graduate School of Leadership where is also serves as Chairman in the Theological Studies Department.  His credentials include: BA Speech Communication, Utah State University; MDiv, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School; ThM Missiology, Trinity Evangelical Divinity School; PhD Theological Studies, Trinity International University; pastoral ministry for 10 years; staff, Campus Crusade for Christ, 1975 to present; ordained, Northshore Chinese Church, USA, 1984.

Dr. Philip Flores - “Men Mentoring Men”

Dr. Philip Flores is currently the national director of TOPIC-Philippines, the pastoral training arm of Philippine Council of Evangelical Churches. TOPIC which stands for Trainers of Pastors International Coalition, is based in Nebraska, USA. Philip was the first Filipino national director of The Navigators in the Philippines, from 1985 to 1994. He and his wife Myrna were both discipled during their university days by The Navigators, and have worked as Navigator staff for 35 years. His present involvement with TOPIC has enlarged his borders from discipling students, married couples and young professionals, to helping train pastors and church leaders all over the Philippines.

Ruth Ortiz - “Biblical Counseling for Women” & “Children’s Sunday School Ministries” 

Ruth and her husband, Paul, are missionaries with Action International Ministries. They have three children: Kai (9), Ryan (7) and Alanda (5).  Ruth was fortunate to be a missionary kid here in Manila during some of her high school years. She then attended The Master’s College in California and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Biblical Counseling. The Ortiz Family moved to Manila in August 2009 from Denver, Colorado.
